Funny Story

Dr. Vandermause took his staff out for our annual holiday dinner.  We went to Eddie V's and it was wonderful.  His wife, Sheri, proceeded to tell us some stories of when she had to be at the clinic during the winter when it iced outside all by herself.  I wanted to share one with you in particular because it was a great story.

A few years ago when it iced really bad out on Bee Caves Road and the ice truck slammed into cars, Sheri's car got stuck at the top of the hill right before the clinic.  Matt Vandermause, Dr. V's son, who used to work here, was on duty as a volunteer fire fighter that night.  He helped Sheri crawl on her butt and high heels all the way (1.2 miles) to the clinic.  She thought she was in the warmest spot at the hospital, the dr's office.  We turned the heat off in that room that night.  She seemed to not figure out why she couldn't get warm that night.  She was hungry and cold and found some pretzels and hot chocolate we had to eat.

The next morning she woke up and took care of the one boarder we had, CoCo Harlan. She took her outside to pee and feed her.  Thank you Sheri for doing that for us.  None of us could get here that day because it was too icy on the roads.  Dr. Vandermause was able to drive over to come get his wife and take her home.  She was laughing so hard telling us that story because, now, it is funny to her to have crawled on her butt and high heels all the way to the clinic.

Just a Crystal Mountain Animal Hospital story to share wtih you.

Hope you are having a great week!!

Holidays

The Cold Weather is offically here.  Please keep your pets warm when it gets this cold outside and it is rainy.  If you don't want to bring them into the house, put them into the garage, that is at least warmer then the cold, wet outside.

Christmas is around the corner.  Let's make sure the Poinsetta's are put up and out of the way.  All those goodies (fudge, cookies, etc) need to be out of mouth reach from those dogs and cats.

We are full for boarding for the holidays.

Have a great week.

Boarding

Just a reminder that if you need Christmas boarding or New Year's Eve Boarding; we are just about filled up.  Please call us as soon as possible that you know your dates to see if we have room left.

Don't forget to not over stuff your dog/cat for thanksgiving.  Don't feed them cooked bones (feed only raw bones) and be careful how much extra food you give them.  If you want to give them your leftovers then don't feed them their normal food, we don't want your pet to gain weight.

Enjoy the week.

We are open for appointments the day after Thanksgiving from 9-12.

Boarding

Just wanted to remind everyone that the holidays are around the corner. Have you scheduled your boarding facility yet? Most every place in town is full by now.  We are full for thanksgiving but not for christmas and new years yet.  Make sure you are using a reputable place.  If you are using an individual sitter, ask for references. You can find a pet sitter at www.petsitusa.com

Good luck everyone!!!!!!!!
